Lake County Ambulance: A Decade-Old Gift Still Serving in Times of Crisis
This fall, Victory Chorus begins a new session—welcoming singers of all ages to share in the joy of making music together. Victory Chorus is a dementia friendly choir serving the Duluth community for over five years.
In 2016 the Victory Fund launched Dementia Friendly Duluth with the goal of making the Duluth community more aware, sensitive, and supportive of people experiencing and caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Victory Chorus grew out of the collaborative work of Dementia Friendly Duluth and launched its first season in 2019. The Choir took a brief hiatus from choral work during the pandemic but continued to provide services through a sing-along program that reached out to assisted living and memory care facilities throughout the community. Victory Chorus resumed in the fall of 2022 with two choral groups: the Victory Chorus at Benedictine Health and the Victory Chorus Community Choir. Both groups work on the same music through the session and come together for a “Celebration of Song” performance.
This season’s theme, “Favorite Songs from Screen and Stage,” invites participants to revisit timeless Broadway tunes and beloved film scores. These familiar melodies have a special way of sparking memories, encouraging participation, and bringing people together across generations. Each weekly rehearsal offers more than music—it’s a chance to connect, move, laugh, and feel part of something larger. Singers leave with lifted spirits, a sense of purpose, and stronger ties to those around them.
The Victory Fund proudly supports programs like The Victory Chorus because we believe in community-based approaches to health that create lasting, positive change.
Come sing with Victory Chorus this fall—you belong here.
